How to: Manifest Like a Mofo – Part 1

Throughout high school, I had many labels: I was a cheerleader, the token bisexual straight girls just ‘experimented’ with, crazy, bitch (or a combination of the two), and the timeless, yet biting “slut”. Most often, though, I was endearingly called a “hippie nerd”.

After an awful 4 years of severe depression, I realized that pursuing spiritual growth was the only way I could get out from under it. I started meditating, manifesting, collecting healing crystals and taking courses in how to use my intuitive gifts to give psychic readings. At first, several friends and family members were not very supportive of my spirituality, so I didn’t speak about it with more than a handful of people and almost became ashamed of who I was and what I believe. I never stopped manifesting though and by the end of high school, I had manifested an open-minded support system and cut out the toxic people in my life.

Within the first month of college, I had people I had never met coming to my dorm asking for readings. Nobody was judgmental or skeptical and I loved being able to help people and form such deep connections with my new classmates. Word spread quickly and now I’ve even started a club on my school campus to teach people how to nourish their spirituality because I feel as though it is my purpose in life to help others live their best lives and accelerate the shift in the collective consciousness.

Did I lose you yet? No? Good.

The law of attraction is a fairly simple concept. It’s been said a million different ways in a million different cultures for a million years. What you put out into the universe is what you get back. What you think, you become. As a man thinks, so is he. If you haven’t read (or watchedThe Secret by now, boy do I have some news for you.

Everyone has a slightly different way of manifesting, but essentially the concept is that by putting a specific thought/energy into the universe, it’s going to come back to you. If you really want abundance, you have to know that you will have it and an opportunity will soon present itself to bring it to you. The biggest thing I’ve learned when manifesting is that you have to take it a step further than believing; if you have any doubt, it won’t work. Take the thoughts of “I wish I had more money” or even the negative and capitalistic “I’m piss-broke and society has conditioned me to believe that money equates to happiness” and transform them into “I can’t wait to be given the perfect opportunity to bring financial abundance into my life and have the freedom it brings with it”.

Visualize paying your bills with a smile on your face and take that feeling of calm and freedom and immerse yourself in it. Whenever you can, take the feeling of that energy and focus on it, sending it out into the Aether, knowing in your heart that you are deserving of what you want and The Universe/God/Source will bring it to you.

But do be careful, this law is also true with negativity. If you keep saying you’re bad at something, you will be. If you think you’re gonna have a shitty day, you will. A word from the (kinda) wise: don’t get trapped in your own negativity and take responsibility for the energy you send out into the world.

Obviously manifesting is only half the battle, you have to work for what you want, of course. This is how you build character and achieve the skills that will help you solve day to day problems and grow as a person. Fortunately, by focusing on having good living/working conditions, daily motivation and intention, and a great support system, everything will fall into place, I promise. Just keep in mind that it’s about achieving your goals, not about how you do it. Things aren’t always going to go how you imagined, but if it’s meant to be, it will happen-Manifesting just gets you farther faster.

One of my favorite examples of how far the Law of Attraction can take you is my girl, Rio Sage. She has an amazing video summing up her experiences with manifesting and what techniques she uses to achieve anything she sets her mind to.

The last couple months have been stressful for me to try to make enough money to continue to attend college as well as have the exciting experiences I desire. Once I finally realized that all of my stress was sending negative energy towards the problem, I changed my thinking and started regularly meditating on what I wanted my life to look like. I can’t even begin to explain to you how many opportunities have presented themselves to me once I changed my way of thinking from ” I wish I had that” to “I can’t wait until I have that” and before I knew it, all of the things I had been stressing about had resolved themselves.

So what can you do to take advantage of the life hack to rule all life hacks?

Meditate. If you’re a beginner guided meditations are extremely helpful in teaching you to channel your energy into achieving abundance, opportunity, and happiness. If you like to freestyle, visual your dream life and focus your practice on tuning into the energy of what it feels like to already have what you want.

Vision boards are a great way to visualize your goals. Print out pictures or find some from magazines and create a collage of all the things you wish to bring into your life. Be specific and think big. What’s your dream car? Where do you wanna live? What kind of job do you want? What does your dream relationship look like? Hang that vision board in a place where you can see it and every time you look at it, you will send that energy into the Universe.

Setting intentions every morning gives you something to focus your thoughts and energy on. Some days, it may be to just have a productive day, and others it might be just making it through your 9-5 without killing someone. If you have any angel or tarot cards, I like to pull one as I’m getting ready to start my day to see what message I need to hear to have a happy and successful day.

Overall, the most important thing to remember is that your thoughts are powerful. They produce energy that can be positive or negative so be mindful of the energy that you’re emitting to others and the Universe. I’ll leave you with a quote by Darryl Anka:

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”
